Amazon Prime Video is bundled with Amazon Prime membership and includes a wide range of content — from children's programming to mature dramas and R-rated movies. With Prime Video Kids and proper parental controls, you can create a safe, customized experience for every child in your family.
Prime Video has content for all ages, including dedicated Amazon Kids programming. Parental controls and Kids profiles make it appropriate even for toddlers when set up correctly.
Amazon's seamless integration with its shopping platform means in-app purchases, rentals, and subscriptions are easy to accidentally authorize. Always set a purchase PIN.

Prime Video Kids is a dedicated children's experience with:
Open Prime Video and click your profile icon. Select "Manage Profiles."
Click "Add Profile." Enter your child's name and enable the "Kids" toggle.
Choose "Younger Kids" (ages 2–8) or "Older Kids" (ages 9–12) to calibrate content recommendations.
Save the profile. Your child can now use their profile independently within the Kids environment.
For older children and teens who need a standard profile:
Visit amazon.com → Account & Lists → Account → Prime Video Settings → Parental Controls. Parental controls must be configured on the website, not the app.
Create a 5-digit PIN for parental controls. This PIN gates all parental control settings changes.
Choose a maximum content rating for purchases and streaming:
Enter your PIN to confirm and save. Content above the rating threshold will now require a PIN to unlock.
Prime Video allows renting and buying movies and TV shows directly in the app. Without a purchase PIN, a child can accidentally (or intentionally) make purchases charged to your Amazon account.
Turn on purchase restrictions so your 5-digit Prime Video PIN is required before any purchase, rental, or add-on subscription is made.
Amazon uses a single 5-digit Prime Video PIN for both purchase restrictions and viewing restrictions. Anyone who knows it can bypass both — choose a code your child won't guess.
You can also require PIN entry even for free content above the rating limit — set this in the parental controls settings page.
Require a PIN to access specific profiles. Set this on your adult profile and any teen profile you don't want younger children accessing.
Review what has been watched on each profile. This shows all recently viewed content — useful for spotting anything unexpected.
Select any item and choose "Remove from Watch History." Note this doesn't prevent recommendations based on prior viewing — it only removes the history entry.
You can hide viewing activity from individual titles so they don't affect recommendations.
Amazon Kids+ (formerly FreeTime Unlimited) is a subscription add-on ($5.99/month for Prime members) that provides:
