Twitch requires users to be 13+. The live nature of content means moderation happens after-the-fact, and mature content can appear unexpectedly.
Live Content
Unlike pre-recorded videos, live streams can't be pre-moderated. Streamers may say or show inappropriate things before any action is taken.
Twitch replaced its old "Show Mature Content" toggle with Content Classification Labels. Streamers must label streams containing sexual themes, drugs or intoxication, gambling, violent and graphic content, mature-rated games, or significant profanity.

Here you can hide streams by label category (for example, Sexual Themes or Gambling) and blur preview thumbnails of sexually themed streams. For accounts registered as under 18, streams labeled Sexual Themes, Drugs/Intoxication, Violent and Graphic Depictions, and Gambling are hidden by default.
Limitation
This only filters streams that streamers label correctly (some labels are applied automatically for mature-rated games). Not all inappropriate content is properly tagged, and filtering depends on the account's registered birthdate being accurate.
