Kik Messenger

High Risk

Kik lets people chat one-on-one and in groups under a username, without tying the account to a phone number. That anonymity has made it a long-standing tool for people who target children. Kik now says it is only for people 18 and older and the App Store rates it 18+, but Connecticut's Attorney General said in September 2026 that Kik does not use any technology to detect underage users, and Nevada sued its owner in 2025 over child safety.

Remove this app immediately if found on your child's device.

Nevada Attorney General Sues Kik for Endangering Children
